But, new year, new blog.
As I said, the Berrang family has started a new chapter in our little adventure called life. Namely, we have moved to Atlantic Beach, FL and I have started a new job at an ad agency in San Marco called Burdette Ketchum. We could not be more thrilled with our move...especially when Matt and Al tell us about the frigid New York winter every morning and it's usually about 70 outside our front door...
Eddie is still working for the same company and is traveling back and forth to NYC a few times a month for meetings and such. Otherwise, he is working out of an office that is 7 min door-to-door by skateboard- pretty rad.
We are so lucky that my Mom (Franma) is able to keep Mattie during the day for us. She is teaching her everything from reading to music to math and Matilda absolutely loves it! She is so happy and loved and we could not be more thrilled with the arrangement.
So much has happened in the past five months that I couldn't even attempt to recap it all here, but I will give you some photographic proof of our amazing little girl's growth. She is now eating solid foods, has two bottom front teeth (as of 4 days ago), is crawling like a champ and is pulling up all on her own on anything she can. I swear she is going to walk in a month at this rate! She is truly the light of our lives and we are SO lucky that she is such a good little baby. She is not sleeping though the night yet though, so I am still on the every 4 hour waking to feed schedule...a small price to pay for her amazingness! Here are a few pics from the past few months...

Needless to say she is growing up so fast. It feels like yesterday that we brought her home and now we can't imagine life without her.
I'm going to try my best to keep up with the blog a little better. Now that Eddie got me an iPhone I have been taking pics like crazy (as you can tell most of the ones I posted are new), so it should be easier to document this little angel's busy life.
Now off to pump- that is not the most fun thing about being a breastfeeding Mom, pumping twice a day at work...such is life!
xoxoxo
Yay!!!!! I've been waiting for a new post! Mattie is gorgeous - just like her mama!
ReplyDeleteI, too, have been waiting for a new post Autumn!
ReplyDeleteAlso wanted to give major props for the pumping. You're right that it's not the easiest thing to do...twice a day at work...but you're definitely not taking the easy way out and you'll look back on this and know that you did the VERY BEST for your baby by ensuring she gets breastmilk. She's growing super fast on her mama's milk and is gorgeous!!
I wanted to share something w/you (that you didn't ask for but you seem health conscious, eating vegan -- at least in the past -- and working hard to give mama's milk so I thought I'd share): http://breastfeeding.hypermart.net/solidfood.html It's about delaying solids in the BF baby and how BF'ing babies truly do not need solids. (Personally, we waited until 10 and 11 months with our youngest two and around 6-7 months with the older two. The older two, since they were still young, needed pureed...so we did homemade, organic baby food and homemade organic rice cereal. The older two never did need purees since we delayed so long.)
Please do not take offense to this!!! In the end, it's your baby, your choices and I def do not think any less of you as a mama just because you use solid foods (there really are more important things in life to worry about, haha!). I only felt compelled to share because you just always struck me as health conscious, so I wanted to share. No other reason. :) ♥
Hi Tasha- thanks for the info. Mattie was almost 6 months when I gave her solids. I am making her food myself- all organic, so you're right to think I'd be interested. She has not let up at all on the amount of breast milk she drinks- she has just added the solids. She is off the charts for height (28 in as of today) and in the 85% for weight (18 lbs as of today), so something is working. :) Thanks again for sharing- I appreciate it!
